Wet-on-Wet Orange & Pink Blossom - TWS2

Willow Wolfe Inc Art: LDCRS-1456

You’ll begin by learning wet-on-wet techniques to create luminous petals, gentle color transitions, and the natural bloom that gives florals their sense of life and movement. We’ll focus on letting the water do the work—building depth through layered washes, temperature shifts, and controlled flow rather than hard edges.

+ Description

This watercolor course is a study in softness, control, and contrast. This is part of our Watercolor Class of the Month Club, so if you're a member, it will drop to your inbox at some point in your subsrcription.

From there, the course transitions into refined line work and detail, showing you how to bring clarity and structure back into the painting once the washes are dry. You’ll learn when to add definition, how to suggest form without outlining, and how fine lines and selective detail can elevate a soft painting without overpowering it.

Throughout the project, you’ll explore:

  • Wet-on-wet petal layering for depth and glow

  • Managing water for soft edges and clean transitions

  • Color placement for natural light and dimension

  • Using subtle line work to define centers, veins, and form

  • Balancing looseness with intention for a finished, elegant result

This course is ideal for artists who want to move beyond flat washes and harsh outlines, and instead learn how fluidity and precision can work together to create expressive, polished florals.
